Razer has introduced the BlackWidow V4 Tenkeyless HyperSpeed, a new addition to its gaming keyboard lineup aimed at users who prefer a compact form factor without compromising on performance or customization. The keyboard combines wireless connectivity, hot-swappable switches, and refined build quality in a design that targets both gaming and daily use.
The BlackWidow V4 Tenkeyless HyperSpeed ships with Razer Orange Tactile Mechanical Switches Gen-3. These switches are designed to provide a quieter typing experience with a tactile bump, making them suitable for both gaming and work environments. The keyboard supports hot-swapping of both 3-pin and 5-pin mechanical switches, allowing users to replace or upgrade switches without soldering. This makes it easier for users to experiment with different switch types to achieve their preferred typing feel.

The internal design includes several acoustic improvements. Dual-layer dampening foam has been added to reduce echo, while factory-lubricated stabilizers help create smoother keystrokes. A top-mounted steel plate minimizes metallic sounds during use, and pre-applied PCB tape softens high-pitched keystroke noise. These features are intended to enhance the overall typing sound and feel.
Despite its tenkeyless layout, the keyboard offers dedicated controls for media playback and volume adjustment. A multi-function roller and three programmable buttons provide additional functionality and can be customized through Razer Synapse software.

Wireless connectivity is handled by Razer HyperSpeed Wireless, which delivers low-latency performance suitable for competitive gaming. The keyboard also supports Bluetooth pairing with up to three devices, enabling users to switch between PCs, laptops, and mobile devices. HyperSpeed Multi-Device Pairing allows a compatible Razer keyboard and mouse to share a single USB dongle, helping to reduce cable and port clutter.
Razer Chroma RGB provides per-key backlighting with support for integration across over 300 games and applications. Lighting effects can be customized using Razer Chroma Studio, and the keyboard’s white steel plate enhances light diffusion for a more uniform glow.

Battery life is rated for up to 980 hours when Power Saving Mode is enabled. Users can check the remaining battery level by pressing a dedicated button, which lights up the number row to indicate charge status.
The BlackWidow V4 Tenkeyless HyperSpeed is designed for users seeking a wireless keyboard with a smaller footprint, customizable switch options, and advanced lighting features. It expands Razer’s BlackWidow series with a model that caters to gamers and enthusiasts who prioritize flexibility and performance in their setups.
