Razer has officially announced the launch of the BlackWidow V4 75% Barebones, marking the company’s entry into the barebones keyboard market. This new product is aimed at keyboard modding enthusiasts and DIY users who want to build and customize their own mechanical keyboards from the ground up.
The BlackWidow V4 75% Barebones is a compact 75% layout keyboard chassis that ships without switches or keycaps, giving users full control over their build. Available in Black and White variants, the keyboard offers a solid foundation for users looking to personalize every aspect of their typing experience.

The design retains the structural integrity and build quality found in Razer’s BlackWidow V4 75%, which includes a metal top case and refined acoustics. The barebones chassis supports both 3-pin and 5-pin mechanical switches, making it compatible with a wide range of switch options available in the market.
Inside the keyboard, Razer has implemented several features that aim to enhance sound and feel. These include dual-layer sound-dampening foam to reduce vibrations and echo, factory-lubricated stabilizers for smoother keypresses, and an FR4 mounting plate known for delivering a deeper sound profile. Additionally, a pre-applied tape mod on the PCB helps to reduce high-pitched keystroke sounds, a feature commonly applied by hobbyists in the custom keyboard community.
Performance remains a central focus for Razer. The keyboard comes equipped with Razer’s 8000 Hz HyperPolling technology, allowing for faster response times compared to standard polling rates. This is especially beneficial for users who demand low input latency during gaming.

For lighting, the BlackWidow V4 75% Barebones includes per-key RGB LEDs and dual-side underglow powered by Razer Chroma RGB. Users can sync lighting effects across compatible games and software, with support for over 300 titles.
To complement the barebones chassis, Razer also offers its Mechanical Switches Gen-3 in packs of 36, sold separately. Users can choose from Green (clicky), Yellow (linear), or Orange (tactile) switches depending on their preference. The Razer Phantom Keycap Upgrade Set, also available separately in Black or White, adds to the customization possibilities while enhancing RGB diffusion.
The Razer BlackWidow V4 75% Barebones is now available through Razer.com and official Razer Stores. The Black variant is priced at $139.99 USD (€149.99), while the White edition is slightly higher at $149.99 USD (€159.99).
This release marks a strategic move by Razer into the growing enthusiast keyboard segment, providing a more hands-on experience for users who want to tailor their setup without compromising on build or performance.
