Razer has officially introduced the Huntsman V3 Pro 8KHz and Huntsman V3 Pro Tenkeyless 8KHz, expanding its Huntsman lineup with models built for professional-level competitive gaming. These new keyboards build upon the legacy of the original Huntsman series, offering faster response times, improved accuracy, and a refined typing experience aimed at esports players and performance-focused gamers.
According to Razer, both models are powered by the Analog Optical Switches Gen-2, combined with True 8000 Hz HyperPolling Technology. This configuration allows the keyboards to achieve a 0.58 ms latency, offering 11% faster performance than comparable models on the market. The switches are designed to deliver smooth, precise actuation and faster reset times—an essential factor for competitive shooters and fast-paced titles.
Barrie Ooi, Head of Razer’s PC Gaming Division, explained that the Huntsman V3 Pro series reflects the company’s continued focus on esports performance. “With the evolution of our Analog Optical Switches and the introduction of 8000 Hz HyperPolling, we’ve taken responsiveness and precision to a new level,” Ooi stated.
Designed with Esports Professionals
The Huntsman V3 Pro 8KHz series was developed in close collaboration with professional players, including Nikola “NiKo” Kovač, a well-known Counter-Strike competitor and a member of Team Razer. NiKo worked directly with Razer engineers, offering feedback on latency, actuation feel, and key consistency.
“The Huntsman V3 Pro Tenkeyless 8KHz provides the control and reliability I rely on in tournaments,” said NiKo. “During development, I visited Razer’s headquarters in Singapore and shared my insights with the team to fine-tune the keyboard’s performance.”
Razer’s Global Esports Director, Jeffrey Chau, emphasized that player feedback played a major role in shaping the final product. “The Huntsman V3 Pro 8KHz represents years of cooperation with esports professionals. Every design choice was made with competitive gaming in mind,” Chau added.
Precision Engineering and Build Quality
The Huntsman V3 Pro 8KHz features a 5052 aluminium alloy top plate, sound-dampening foam, and pre-lubricated stabilizers, offering a consistent and quiet keypress experience. The doubleshot PBT keycaps ensure long-term durability, while the magnetic leatherette wrist rest provides comfort during extended gaming sessions.
At its core, the Gen-2 Analog Optical Switches deliver an adjustable actuation range between 0.1 mm and 4.0 mm. Each switch is factory-calibrated for 0.1 mm precision, providing 2.5x better accuracy compared to the closest competitor. Features such as Rapid Trigger Mode and Razer Snap Tap allow players to make near-instant directional changes and execute quick inputs during high-pressure moments.
Rated for up to 100 million keystrokes, the switches are built to handle the intense demands of competitive gaming while maintaining consistent performance over time.
Customization and Control
Both models include a multi-function digital dial and dedicated control buttons for media and system adjustments. Users can tweak actuation height or Rapid Trigger sensitivity directly on the keyboard, with visual feedback displayed through an onboard LED array. All settings are saved to the keyboard’s internal memory, eliminating the need for external software.
The Razer Snap Tap feature gives players greater control by prioritizing the latest keypress for immediate directional response, helping to improve agility during matches.
