Oppo has officially announced the launch date for its upcoming Find X8 series of flagship smartphones. The series will be unveiled on October 24 in China, featuring the latest advancements in smartphone technology. A key highlight of the series is its use of the all-new Dimensity 9400 SoC, built on TSMC’s second-generation 3nm process technology.
Lineup and Models
The Find X8 series will consist of multiple models, including the Oppo Find X8, Find X8 Pro, and a Find X8 Pro Satellite Communication Version. In addition, a high-end model, the Oppo Find X8 Ultra, is expected to debut in January 2025. The Ultra model will likely be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, while the other models in the series will feature the Dimensity 9400 processor.
Design and Camera Features
Leaked images suggest the Find X8 series will continue with Oppo’s signature round camera module design. The Find X8 Pro model is rumored to include a quad-camera system with dual periscope telephoto cameras, offering advanced zoom capabilities. The standard Find X8 model is expected to feature a triple-camera setup with a single periscope lens. A notable addition across the series is the expected inclusion of a Camera Control button, similar to what is found in the iPhone 16 series.
Display and Charging
The front of the Find X8 series will feature a micro-quad-curved OLED display, designed for immersive visuals and a sleek appearance. The entire lineup will support 50W magnetic wireless charging and will operate on ColorOS 15, which is based on Android 15. Furthermore, like Oppo’s Reno 12 series, the Find X8 models are expected to include an off-network communication feature called BeaconLink, which allows for connectivity in areas without standard cellular reception.
Dimensity 9400 Chipset Details
The Dimensity 9400 processor at the heart of the Find X8 series brings significant improvements in performance and efficiency. This new chipset includes a second-generation all-big-core CPU architecture, featuring a high-performance Cortex-X925 core clocked at 3.62GHz, three Cortex-X4 cores, and four Cortex-A720 cores. This configuration increases single-core performance by 35% and multi-core performance by 28% compared to its predecessor.
In terms of memory, the Dimensity 9400 supports 10.7Gbps LPDDR5X memory, which enhances both speed and energy efficiency. The processor also adopts a PC-level Armv9 architecture with doubled cache capacity, contributing to a 40% reduction in power consumption under similar performance conditions. As a result, the Find X8 series promises both high performance and prolonged battery life.
The Oppo Find X8 Pro Satellite Communication Version, powered by the Dimensity 9400, recently appeared in benchmark tests with an impressive score of 2,880,055 on AnTuTu, demonstrating its potential for top-tier performance.
Global Expansion
Following its launch in China, the OPPO Find X8 series is likely to be rolled out globally, as certification for the Find X8 and Find X8 Pro has been spotted in countries like India, Indonesia, and Thailand. The global release date is expected to follow soon after the initial China launch.
This new series looks to strengthen Oppo’s position in the premium smartphone market by delivering advanced features, strong performance, and the latest hardware innovations.
