Minisforum Unveils BD895i SE Mini-ITX Motherboard With Ryzen 9 8945HX Mobile CPU

Minisforum has unveiled the BD895i SE, a Mini-ITX motherboard built around AMD’s Ryzen 9 8945HX mobile processor. Part of the company’s MoDT (Mobile on Desktop) lineup, the board targets compact systems that require high CPU performance in a small form factor. The motherboard measures 170 × 170 mm and includes a large pre-installed low-profile heatsink, designed to fit in tight cases while offering the option to add a 120 mm fan for additional cooling.

The Ryzen 9 8945HX processor features 16 cores and 32 threads, running at a base clock of 2.5 GHz and boosting up to 5.4 GHz. It has a standard 100 W TDP with boost power reaching 120 W. The BD895i SE supports up to 96 GB of DDR5-5200 memory through two SO-DIMM slots. For storage, it includes two PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 2280 slots and an M.2 2230 E-Key slot for Wi-Fi or Bluetooth modules.

Graphics options are provided through a full PCIe 5.0 x16 slot, as the onboard AMD Radeon 610M GPU is intended for basic display output rather than gaming. Display connectivity includes HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4, and USB-C with DisplayPort Alt Mode, supporting up to 8K at 60 Hz or 4K at 120 Hz. Networking is handled by a 2.5 GbE LAN port, and a range of USB 2.0, USB 3.2 Gen 1, and USB-C Gen 2 ports are available on the rear I/O, along with analog audio jacks.

The motherboard is powered through standard ATX connectors, allowing compatibility with conventional desktop power supplies. Pricing is set at around $423.90 in the US, down from $529, and €439 in Europe, reduced from €549. The BD895i SE offers a compact platform for users seeking high-performance CPU capabilities without moving to larger desktop systems.
