Luckfox Introduces 16-Inch 4K 120Hz and 2K 165Hz Portable Touch Monitors

Luckfox, a Chinese company known for its development boards and embedded hardware, has entered the portable display segment with two new 16-inch touch monitors. The lineup includes a 3840 × 2400 4K model with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a 2560 × 1600 2K version that increases the refresh rate to 165 Hz. Both monitors use a 16:10 aspect ratio and are aimed at users who need a compact external display for laptops, smartphones, and single-board systems.

The 4K variant uses an IPS panel with a pixel pitch of 0.0897 mm, offering a high pixel density suited for detailed workloads such as coding, editing, and media consumption. Brightness is rated at 350 cd/m², and viewing angles are specified at 178 degrees, which is typical for IPS technology. HDR support is included, although the brightness level suggests it is designed for general HDR playback rather than professional-grade content creation. The panel supports a 120 Hz refresh rate, which can provide smoother motion compared to standard 60 Hz portable displays.

Luckfox has integrated optical bonding to reduce internal reflections and improve contrast perception. The screen supports 10-point capacitive touch through a layer of toughened glass, allowing it to function as both a display and an interactive surface. Connectivity options include Mini HDMI and USB Type-C for display input, along with a dedicated USB interface for touch data. The monitor also features built-in Hi-Fi speakers and a 3.5 mm audio jack for external audio devices.

The chassis is CNC-machined, giving the display a solid frame despite its slim profile. VESA 75 mm mounting support is included for users who prefer to integrate it into a fixed setup. Luckfox ships the monitor with a detachable magnetic protective case that doubles as a stand, offering two viewing angles for desk use. The 4K 120 Hz model is priced at $319.99.

The 2K model retains many of the same features, including IPS technology, HDR support, optical bonding, and 10-point touch capability. However, it increases the refresh rate to 165 Hz, which may appeal to users who prioritize higher frame rates. It maintains compatibility with full-featured USB-C devices and is also suitable for development boards such as the Raspberry Pi and NVIDIA’s Jetson series. Both monitors are powered via USB-C with support for up to 20 W Power Delivery, reducing the need for separate power adapters in compatible setups.

The 2K 165 Hz variant is listed at $189.99, placing it in a competitive position within the portable monitor market. With high refresh rates, touch input, USB-C connectivity, and VESA mounting support, Luckfox’s new displays expand its product range beyond development hardware into consumer-facing peripherals.
