Lofree Unveils the Hypace: A Ultralight Gaming Mouse with Magnesium Alloy Frame

Lofree has announced the launch of the Hypace, a gaming mouse that pushes the boundaries of ultralight design. Marketed as the world’s first built-on-frame ultralight gaming mouse, the Hypace features a magnesium alloy frame combined with a polycarbonate (PC) shell, delivering both a lightweight construction and a solid, comfortable grip. Unlike traditional ultra-lightweight mice that rely on honeycomb shell designs to shed weight, the Hypace achieves a remarkable 47±2g weight without compromising structural integrity.

The external mold of the Lofree Hypace is reminiscent of the Logitech G Pro Wireless (GPW) series, making it a suitable choice for gamers who prefer that form factor. The mouse dimensions are 124.41mm (L) x 62.7mm (W) x 37.94mm (H), making it a good fit for small to medium hand sizes. The magnesium alloy frame ensures a sturdy build while keeping the weight at a competitive low.

Lofree’s approach to ultralight gaming mice eliminates the typical perforated shell, offering a more refined aesthetic and a solid feel in the hands. This design choice also prevents dust and debris from accumulating inside, a common issue with hole-based ultra-lightweight mice.

The Hypace is powered by the PixArt PAW3950 optical sensor, one of the most advanced gaming sensors available today. It supports a maximum sensitivity of 40,000 CPI (overclocked), ensuring pinpoint accuracy and high-speed tracking performance for competitive gaming.

The mouse is equipped with Kailh White Blade gold-plated micro switches, rated for 100 million clicks. These switches provide a crisp, tactile response, enhancing precision and durability. A Nordic master control unit manages power efficiency and wireless stability.

Lofree has integrated a three-mode connectivity system, allowing users to switch between:

  • USB-C wired connection
  • Wireless 2.4GHz mode
  • (Possibly) Bluetooth mode (pending final confirmation)

An impressive feature of the Hypace is its support for an 8,000Hz (8KHz) polling rate in both wired and 2.4GHz wireless modes, delivering near-zero input latency and ultra-smooth cursor tracking. This makes it an excellent choice for esports professionals and competitive gamers who demand top-tier responsiveness.

The Hypace is equipped with a 250mAh lithium-polymer battery, offering different battery life depending on polling rate settings:

  • 8KHz polling rate: Up to 17 hours of continuous use
  • 1KHz polling rate: Extended battery life of 80 hours

This flexibility allows users to tailor performance settings based on their gaming needs, prioritizing either ultra-fast response times or extended battery life.

Lofree has launched the Hypace through a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign, with an introductory price of $109 USD. According to the company, the gaming mouse is scheduled for an official retail launch between April and May 2025.

The Hypace’s unique approach to ultralight design—combining a premium magnesium alloy frame with high-end components—positions it as a strong competitor in the gaming peripheral market. As Lofree challenges industry giants such as Logitech, Razer, and Zowie, the Hypace could set a new standard for lightweight gaming mice.

With the crowdfunding campaign underway, the gaming community will soon determine whether this innovative design truly delivers on its promise of combining ultra-lightweight construction with uncompromising performance.
