Keychron has announced that its new flagship custom mechanical keyboard, the Keychron Z1 Max, will officially launch on July 21. The upcoming keyboard combines a premium aluminum chassis with tri-mode connectivity and several new design elements, targeting mechanical keyboard enthusiasts as well as users looking for a compact wireless keyboard for work and gaming.
The Z1 Max adopts a modified layout based on the popular 75% keyboard design while retaining the dedicated function key row. This layout offers a balance between saving desk space and keeping frequently used keys easily accessible. It is designed for users who want a compact keyboard without moving to a smaller layout that removes important keys.
The keyboard features a CNC-machined all-aluminum alloy body that provides a solid, durable build while giving it a premium look and feel. Keychron has also equipped it with keycaps featuring translucent sides on part of the keyboard, allowing the RGB lighting to shine through the edges for a different visual effect than traditional keycaps.

A multi-function information display is positioned in the upper-right corner of the keyboard. While Keychron has not revealed its complete functionality, the screen is expected to provide useful information such as battery level, connection mode, or keyboard settings.
The rear of the keyboard features an infinity mirror RGB light strip, adding another lighting element to the overall design. Product images also suggest that the keyboard may include a lever-style adjustable support mechanism, although the company has yet to confirm the details.
As a flagship model, the Keychron Z1 Max supports tri-mode connectivity, allowing users to switch between wired, Bluetooth, and 2.4GHz wireless connections. This makes it suitable for use with multiple devices, including PCs, laptops, tablets, and compatible mobile devices.
