Keychron Launches K4 Ultra and K10 Ultra Wireless Mechanical Keyboards with 8K Polling and Up to 600-Hour Battery Life

Keychron has announced two new wireless mechanical keyboards, the K4 Ultra and K10 Ultra, expanding its K Ultra lineup with two models designed for users who need a numeric keypad but prefer different keyboard sizes. While both keyboards share the same internal hardware, wireless features, and switch options, the main difference comes down to their layouts. The K10 Ultra follows a traditional full-size design with a dedicated macro row above the number pad, while the K4 Ultra adopts a more compact 96% layout by removing the navigation cluster above the arrow keys. Both keyboards are now available through Keychron’s online store and Amazon storefront with a starting price of $114.99.

The K4 Ultra measures 391.29 × 140.27 mm, making it over 55 mm narrower than the full-size K10 Ultra, which measures 447.76 × 139.82 mm. This allows users to save desk space without giving up a dedicated number pad. The K10 Ultra, on the other hand, targets users who prefer a complete desktop keyboard layout with additional macro keys for productivity or shortcuts.

Both keyboards are powered by ZMK firmware, which is designed to improve wireless efficiency while offering customization features. Keychron claims the built-in 4,000mAh battery can deliver up to 600 hours of battery life with the RGB backlighting disabled. For connectivity, users can switch between 2.4GHz wireless, Bluetooth 5.2, and a USB Type-C wired connection, giving the keyboard compatibility across desktops, laptops, tablets, and other supported devices.

Buyers can choose from three factory-installed Keychron Apex mechanical switch options:

  • Apex Red: Linear switch with 45gf actuation force and 2.0mm actuation distance.
  • Apex Brown: Tactile switch with 50gf actuation force and 2.0mm actuation distance.
  • Apex Banana: Tactile switch with 55gf actuation force and 2.0mm actuation distance.

Gaming performance is another focus of the new models. Both the K4 Ultra and K10 Ultra support an 8,000Hz polling rate when connected through the 2.4GHz wireless receiver or via USB Type-C. The higher polling rate reduces input latency, making the keyboards suitable for competitive gaming while maintaining the flexibility of wireless connectivity.

The two keyboards also share the same construction, featuring a tray-mounted ABS chassis, a steel switch plate, and multiple layers of internal sound-dampening materials that help produce a quieter and more consistent typing experience. Keychron includes double-shot PBT keycaps using its OSA profile, which offers OEM-like key height with a rounded keycap shape designed for comfortable long-term typing.

Key specifications include:

  • 96% layout (K4 Ultra) or full-size layout (K10 Ultra)
  • Four dedicated macro keys on the K10 Ultra
  • ZMK firmware for wireless optimization
  • Up to 600 hours of battery life with lighting disabled
  • Built-in 4,000mAh battery
  • 8,000Hz polling rate over wired and 2.4GHz wireless modes
  • Bluetooth 5.2, 2.4GHz wireless, and USB Type-C connectivity
  • Tray-mounted ABS case with steel switch plate
  • Internal sound-dampening materials
  • Double-shot PBT keycaps in the OSA profile
  • Available with Apex Red, Brown, or Banana mechanical switches
  • Starting price of $114.99

The new K4 Ultra and K10 Ultra give buyers two layout options while keeping the same hardware, wireless features, and gaming performance. Users looking for a compact keyboard with a number pad can opt for the K4 Ultra, while those who prefer a full-size layout with extra macro keys can choose the K10 Ultra without paying a premium over the smaller model.
