Keychron Launches C1 Pro 8K and C3 Pro 8K Mechanical Keyboards with 8,000 Hz Polling Rate

Keychron has introduced two new mechanical keyboards, C1 Pro 8K and C3 Pro 8K, targeted at users who prioritize high responsiveness and switch customization. Both models are built around an ultra-high 8,000 Hz polling rate, which enables faster response times and reduced input latency, a specification that is becoming increasingly relevant in gaming and competitive scenarios.

The two models feature a tenkeyless layout, removing the number pad for a more compact design. They both support hot-swappable MX-style switches, making it easy for users to replace switches without soldering. Compatible switch types include popular options such as Cherry, Gateron, Kailh, and Panda. Customers can choose between red, brown, or banana mechanical switches depending on their preference for actuation force and tactile feedback.

One of the distinguishing features between the two keyboards lies in their construction. The C3 Pro is built with a gasket-mounted design and uses a polycarbonate plate. This combination is typically used to reduce typing noise and deliver a more cushioned keypress feel. On the other hand, the C1 Pro utilizes a tray-mounted structure with a metal positioning plate, offering a firmer and more traditional mechanical typing experience.

There are also notable differences in keycap design and backlighting. The C1 Pro comes with OSA-profile double-shot PBT keycaps and features south-facing RGB lighting. The C3 Pro uses Cherry-profile shine-through PBT keycaps and north-facing RGB lighting, designed to produce more prominent illumination, particularly in darker environments.

Both keyboards come equipped with Keychron’s new Super Switches. These switches are designed with a transparent top housing to improve RGB light diffusion and are rated for 50 million keystrokes. For configuration and customization, both models support QMK firmware and are compatible with Keychron Launcher—a browser-based tool that works with Windows, macOS, and Linux. Through the Launcher, users can remap keys, create macros, and adjust polling rates directly from Chrome, Edge, or Opera without installing any additional software.

Additional features include multi-layer sound-dampening foams for reduced acoustic feedback, adjustable feet for different typing angles, and keycap sets that support multiple operating systems. Keychron has priced both models at $54.99, and they are now available through the company’s official online store.

With the introduction of the C1 Pro 8K and C3 Pro 8K, Keychron expands its lineup of mechanical keyboards with a focus on low-latency performance and user-level customization, meeting the needs of both gamers and mechanical keyboard enthusiasts.
