Hikvision has announced its latest consumer-grade solid-state drive, the C5000ECO, which is set to join the company’s expanding storage lineup. The new SSD is built around the latest PCIe Gen5 ×4 interface, offering significantly higher bandwidth than previous PCIe generations. It is aimed at users building or upgrading modern desktop PCs that support PCIe 5.0, including gaming systems, content creation workstations, and other high-performance platforms.
The Hikvision C5000ECO adopts the standard M.2 2280 form factor, making it compatible with a wide range of current motherboards and laptops that support the PCIe Gen5 interface. It also complies with the NVMe protocol, allowing the drive to take advantage of the higher transfer speeds available through PCIe 5.0.

According to Hikvision, the C5000ECO delivers sequential read speeds of up to 11,900 MB/s. While the company has not shared sequential write speeds or random performance figures, the advertised read performance places the drive among the latest generation of high-speed consumer SSDs designed for demanding workloads. Users upgrading from PCIe Gen3 or Gen4 storage can expect much faster loading times for large applications, games, and file transfers on supported hardware.
The SSD is built using 3D TLC NAND flash memory, which remains one of the most widely used flash memory types in consumer storage thanks to its balance of speed, endurance, and storage density. Hikvision has also opted for a DRAM-less design. Modern DRAM-less SSDs can use technologies such as Host Memory Buffer (HMB) to improve performance during everyday tasks while helping reduce manufacturing costs and power consumption.
Hikvision confirmed that the C5000ECO will be available in several capacity options, including a 2TB model, allowing users to choose a version that best fits their storage needs. The company says the different capacities are intended to support various usage scenarios, from general computing to gaming and professional workloads.
Key specifications of the Hikvision C5000ECO include:
- PCIe Gen5 ×4 interface
- M.2 2280 form factor
- NVMe protocol support
- Up to 11,900 MB/s sequential read speed
- 3D TLC NAND flash memory
- DRAM-less architecture
- Multiple storage capacities, including 2TB
Hikvision has not yet announced pricing, availability, endurance ratings, warranty coverage, or complete performance specifications for the C5000ECO. More details are expected closer to its retail launch. As PCIe 5.0 adoption continues to grow across AMD and Intel desktop platforms, the C5000ECO will give consumers another option in the increasingly competitive Gen5 SSD market.
