HEXGEARS has officially introduced its latest mechanical keyboard, the MK87, a new 80% TKL model designed for gamers and users who want a compact keyboard without giving up wireless connectivity and customization options.
The HEXGEARS MK87 features a tenkeyless layout that removes the dedicated number pad while keeping the main navigation and function keys. This design helps save desk space while maintaining the key layout preferred by many gaming and productivity users.
The keyboard comes with tri-mode connectivity, allowing users to connect through wired USB, Bluetooth, or 2.4GHz wireless modes. Inside, it includes an 8000mAh battery that provides longer usage time for wireless setups.
The MK87 is available with two Kailh custom linear switch options. Users can choose between Kailh Silver switches, which focus on quicker key response, or Kailh Frost switches, designed for a quieter typing experience. Both switches provide a linear keypress feel and are compatible with the keyboard’s hot-swappable PCB design.
HEXGEARS has also focused on the keyboard’s internal structure. The six-layer damping filler system is designed to improve typing acoustics by reducing unwanted vibration and noise. The included PC positioning plate helps maintain switch stability during typing and gaming sessions.
For customization, the keyboard features full RGB lighting across the keys along with additional lighting areas. An RGB ambient light strip is included to show power information, while separate RGB zones on both sides add more visual effects to the overall design.
The keycaps use original CHERRY-profile height PBT material with double-shot injection molding. This manufacturing process keeps the key legends clear over extended use compared with standard printed keycaps.
