GTA 6 Could Require 210 GB of PS5 Storage, Leak Claims

GTA 6 could require around 210 GB of storage on PlayStation 5, according to information shared by PlayStation Game Size, an X account that tracks data from the PlayStation Store backend. The reported figure suggests that Rockstar Games’ upcoming open-world game could take up a significant portion of the console’s available storage. The same post lists the $79.99 Standard Edition, with pre-loading reportedly scheduled to begin on November 12 ahead of the game’s November 19 release. Insider Gaming has also reportedly corroborated the estimated file size, but Rockstar has yet to confirm the details.

The 210 GB figure should be treated as an estimate until Rockstar makes an official announcement. It is also unclear whether the reported size refers to the download or the complete installation, and a day-one update could increase the total storage requirement. If accurate, GTA 6 would occupy a considerable amount of space on the original PS5, which comes with an 825 GB SSD and offers roughly 667 GB of usable storage. The game could therefore consume close to one-third of the available space before players install any additional titles.

Physical buyers may also need to download the game. According to the report, the boxed edition will include a download code instead of a physical disc, meaning players will still need sufficient storage and an internet connection to install GTA 6. The file size for Xbox Series X|S has not been reported yet, leaving its storage requirements unclear.

An earlier claim linked to leaker Cyberleek, who has threatened to release a playable build of GTA 6, suggested that a development version exceeded 200 GB. However, development builds can contain additional assets and files that do not appear in the final retail release, so the claim does not confirm the reported PS5 file size.

The PC version is reportedly planned for the first quarter of 2027, although Rockstar has not officially confirmed that release window. Console players may want to check their available storage before the reported November 12 pre-load date. If the final installation approaches 210 GB, users with limited space may need to remove other games or expand their PS5 storage with a compatible M.2 SSD.
