The wait for Grand Theft Auto VI is getting another hardware tie-in, as Sony has revealed two limited-edition DualSense wireless controllers inspired by Rockstar Games’ upcoming PS5 release. Announced during today’s State of Play, the GTA 6 DualSense controllers come in black and white designs based on the atmosphere of Vice City. Both models will launch on November 19, the same day GTA VI arrives on PS5.
The new controllers are officially named the DualSense Wireless Controller – Grand Theft Auto VI Black Limited Edition and DualSense Wireless Controller – Grand Theft Auto VI White Limited Edition. Rather than simply adding GTA branding to Sony’s standard controller, both versions use a shimmering, color-shifting finish designed around the colors of a Vice City sunset and its neon-lit nightlife. Custom palm tree details are also molded directly into the controller, giving the designs some physical texture alongside the GTA VI branding.
The white model is based on Vice City during the daytime, with Sony describing its design around white sands and pastel skies. The black version takes its inspiration from the city after dark, matching the game’s nightlife-focused aesthetic. Both controllers will be sold in limited quantities, although their availability differs depending on the market.

The hardware itself retains the features found on the regular DualSense controller. Sony says GTA VI will make use of haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, with the controller responding to the action and providing dynamic resistance during gameplay. That means the GTA 6 editions are not just collector-focused accessories; they will provide the same DualSense functionality when playing the game on PS5.
Pre-orders for both versions open on September 10. In the US, orders begin at 7:00 a.m. PT / 10:00 a.m. ET, while the UK, France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg will start pre-orders at 10:00 a.m. local time. The white model will be available through PlayStation Direct and participating retailers globally, while the black model will be sold through PlayStation Direct where available and select retailers in other regions.

The timing is also significant because GTA VI is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PS5, making these controllers part of Sony’s launch hardware lineup for one of the year’s biggest game releases. For players already planning to pick up GTA VI on PS5, the choice comes down largely to the two Vice City-inspired designs, with both carrying the same $84.99 US price.
