Google Pixel 11 Series Launches With Tensor G6, 120x Pro Zoom and Major Camera Upgrades

Google is pushing its Pixel lineup further into AI-powered photography and on-device processing with the launch of the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, and Pixel 11 Pro XL. The new phones combine Google’s Tensor G6 processor with upgraded camera hardware, brighter displays, improved durability, faster charging, and deeper Gemini integration.

The Pixel 11 series starts at $899, while the Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL cost $1,099 and $1,299, respectively. All three models are available for pre-order and will reach the Google Store and retail partners on August 20. Buyers can get up to $350 in gift cards when preordering the new Pixel phones, while Amazon and Best Buy are matching Google’s offers.

The preorder offers are split across the lineup:

The standard Pixel 11 gets a new 48MP main camera sensor with 56% greater light sensitivity, which should help the phone produce better results in darker environments. Its 5x telephoto camera can also reach 30x Super Zoom with help from Tensor G6.

Google has made larger changes to the Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL camera systems. Both phones feature a new main sensor and an upgraded 48MP telephoto camera with a larger sensor and 30% higher light sensitivity. Portrait Mode now works at 5x zoom, while Pro Zoom can reach 120x.

Night Sight is also getting a speed boost. Google says its latest imaging system can capture Night Sight photos up to 4.5 times faster, with Tensor G6 handling more of the image processing.

The new Tensor G6 is designed around AI workloads as much as traditional smartphone performance. Google claims the upgraded CPU delivers 25% faster web browsing and 15% faster app launches, while the TPU provides 50% more compute. On-device AI tasks can reportedly run up to 3.5 times faster while consuming up to 3.5 times less energy.

The Pixel 11 Pro models also introduce HiLight, a notification system that uses colored LEDs around the camera flash. When the phone is placed face down, the lights can indicate activity such as Gemini requests or incoming calls. Users can assign different colors to selected contacts.

Google has also refined the Pixel 11 design. The standard model gets a camera bar that is 40% thinner, while the Pro models feature Super Actua displays reaching up to 3,600 nits. A new anti-scratch coating is claimed to provide more than twice the scratch resistance of the previous generation.

All three phones include Pixelsnap support and 256GB of starting storage. The Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro support 25W Qi 2.2 wireless charging, while the Pixel 11 Pro XL can reportedly deliver up to 15 hours of battery life after 15 minutes of wired charging.

With Google’s new Titan M3 security chip working alongside Tensor G6. The Pixel 11 series adds post-quantum cryptography to secure boot as Google prepares its security architecture for future threats.

The Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL also come with six months of Google AI Pro, including higher Gemini usage, 5TB of cloud storage, and Google Health Premium Plus. Google is promising seven years of OS, security, and Pixel Drop updates across the Pixel 11 lineup.
