GIGABYTE Launches B850M AORUS Stealth MicroATX AM5 Motherboard With Backside Connectors and Wi-Fi 7

GIGABYTE has announced the B850M AORUS Stealth, a new MicroATX motherboard built for AMD’s AM5 platform. Based on the AMD B850 chipset, the motherboard joins the company’s Stealth lineup by adopting a backside connector layout that helps users build cleaner-looking systems with improved cable routing. While rear-connector motherboards have become more common in the ATX segment, the B850M AORUS Stealth is among GIGABYTE’s first MicroATX offerings to use this design.

The motherboard is designed for AMD Ryzen processors using the AM5 socket and features an 8+2+2 phase VRM configuration. Power is supplied through a standard 24-pin ATX connector and a single 8-pin EPS CPU power connector. The board also supports four DDR5 memory slots, allowing users to build systems with high-speed DDR5 memory for gaming, content creation, and everyday workloads.

For expansion and storage, the motherboard includes one PCIe 5.0 x16 slot for modern graphics cards and three M.2 slots for NVMe SSDs. One M.2 slot supports PCIe Gen5 x4 speeds, while the second CPU-connected slot operates at PCIe Gen4 x4. A third PCIe Gen4 x4 M.2 slot is connected through the AMD B850 chipset. Users who still rely on SATA storage are also covered with two SATA 6 Gbps ports.

Rear I/O connectivity includes a mix of modern and legacy USB ports. GIGABYTE equips the motherboard with four USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, four USB 2.0 Type-A ports, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A port, and one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port. Internal headers further expand connectivity by adding two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports and a USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 Type-C header capable of delivering up to 20 Gbps transfer speeds for compatible front-panel ports.

The B850M AORUS Stealth includes modern networking features for both wired and wireless connections. Wireless connectivity is powered by the Realtek RTL8922AE module, supporting Wi-Fi 7 with 160 MHz bandwidth and Bluetooth 5.4. For wired networking, the motherboard uses a Realtek RTL8126 controller that delivers 5 Gigabit Ethernet ports, providing higher bandwidth for online gaming, large file transfers, and fast access to network-attached storage.

Audio is powered by the Realtek ALC1220 high-definition codec, a solution that continues to be used on many enthusiast motherboards for its reliable sound quality.
