FromSoftware, the studio behind the Dark Souls series and Elden Ring, is working on an unannounced game that could be released in 2026. A new report from MP1st states that the Japanese developer currently has several projects in development, including updates for Elden Ring: Nightreign, a new title for Nintendo’s next console, and a third project known by its codename “FMC.”
The report mentions that FMC is a multiplatform title and has reached an advanced stage of development. If there are no delays, it could launch as early as next year. The codename offers few clues about the project’s content, but past FromSoftware games like Dark Souls and Armored Core have also used codenames beginning with the letter “F.” This has led to speculation that FMC may belong to one of these established series.

If the project is connected to Dark Souls, it would be notable since studio president Hidetaka Miyazaki previously stated that the series had concluded. This could mean that FMC is a spin-off or a remaster. With the first two games already receiving remastered editions, there is a possibility that Dark Souls III could be the next to get similar treatment. However, no official details have been provided.

Meanwhile, FromSoftware continues to support Elden Ring: Nightreign, which combines elements from Elden Ring and the Souls series with additional co-op features and roguelite mechanics. The title is available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S.
The studio is also preparing The Duskbloods for the next-generation Nintendo Switch. This project is expected to expand FromSoftware’s presence on multiple platforms. At this time, FromSoftware has not shared official information about FMC or its release timeline. More details may emerge as the company moves further into development.
