The developers behind EmuDeck have entered the hardware space with the launch of the Playnix mini PC, a compact gaming system designed to deliver a console-like experience in a small form factor. With a listed price of $1139, the system is positioned as an alternative to Valve’s earlier Steam Machine initiative, combining preconfigured software with capable hardware.
The Playnix mini PC features a chassis measuring 320 × 247 × 64 mm, using a 3D-printed design that keeps the footprint relatively compact for a system equipped with a discrete GPU. At its core is a 6-core AMD Ryzen 5 processor, rated at up to 65W TDP. While the exact model has not been detailed, the configuration suggests a mid-range CPU suitable for both gaming and general desktop tasks.
Graphics performance is handled by the AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT, equipped with 16GB of VRAM. This places the system in a segment capable of running modern titles at moderate to high settings, while also offering enough headroom for emulation workloads, which aligns with the background of the development team.
Memory and storage configurations are more basic out of the box.
