DAREU has officially introduced its GT87 magnetic switch keyboard to the global market after its initial debut in China earlier this year. The keyboard combines magnetic sensing technology with a typing experience designed to feel closer to a traditional mechanical keyboard, targeting both gamers and everyday users.
The GT87 recently received recognition through the Red Dot Design Award for its product design and user experience. With magnetic switch keyboards becoming increasingly common in the gaming market, DAREU is aiming to differentiate the GT87 by focusing not only on speed and responsiveness but also on typing comfort and acoustics.
DAREU is using a custom magnetic switch design based on TMR (Tunnel Magnetoresistance) technology in the keyboard. According to the company, the implementation reduces power consumption while still delivering precise and responsive key input. The keyboard also includes tri-mode connectivity support with wired USB, 2.4 GHz wireless, and Bluetooth modes.
The GT87 introduces a redesigned switch structure aimed at delivering a more natural bottom-out feel, closer to traditional mechanical keyboards. While magnetic keyboards are usually focused on speed and rapid actuation, DAREU says the GT87 has been tuned to improve typing feel without sacrificing responsiveness.
“Our focus with the GT87 is to balance performance and typing experience in magnetic keyboards,” said Chenxi Li, Chairman of DAREU. “Through TMR integration and structural refinement, we aim to offer both responsive input and a more natural feel.”
For gaming performance, the GT87 supports rapid trigger sensitivity down to 0.01 mm and includes an 8000Hz polling rate. The keyboard also features advanced key scanning capabilities designed to reduce latency and improve response times during competitive gameplay. Battery life is handled by an integrated 8000mAh battery. According to DAREU, users can expect up to 30 hours of usage with RGB lighting enabled and as much as 190 hours with lighting turned off, depending on usage conditions and connection mode.
In terms of design, the GT87 adopts an automotive-inspired appearance featuring an integrated wrist rest with a forged carbon fiber texture, detachable aluminium alloy side panels, multi-zone RGB lighting, and a rotating metal support foot.
Internally, the keyboard uses a PC plate, a slotted PCB, and a four-layer damping structure intended to improve typing acoustics and reduce unwanted vibration. DAREU has also included support for switch-level replacement, allowing users to replace individual switches for maintenance or customization without replacing the entire keyboard.
Following its launch in China, early user feedback has highlighted the keyboard’s build quality and typing feel as notable strengths. The DAREU GT87 magnetic switch keyboard is now available globally with an MSRP of US$310.
