Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5 Leak Reveals PS5 and Xbox Mods and Dual-Wielding Pistols

CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5 could introduce several new features, including dual-wielding pistols, console mod support, and a field-of-view (FOV) slider. Details reportedly leaked ahead of the developer’s planned presentation on October 21, with the update expected to arrive on October 22. The information comes from a video published early by YouTuber WesNemo, which has since been removed, although members of the r/GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit have shared summaries of its reported contents.

According to WesNemo, CD Projekt RED provided early access to the update to selected content creators. The developer has confirmed dual-wielding and cyberware customization, but the remaining features have not been officially verified and should be treated as rumors until the full patch notes are released.

The reported dual-wielding feature appears to be limited to pistols. Players could unlock it through a new perk called “Double Trouble” in the Cool skill tree, giving V another combat option in Night City. The update is also said to include a new gig called “Clampdown,” reportedly connected to Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, alongside a side quest involving a tour of Night City.

Cyberware customization could receive additional options through Glamourdoc shops, allowing players to change the appearance of arm-based equipment such as Mantis Blades and Gorilla Arms. The leak also mentions five new clothing sets, additional hairstyles for both male and female versions of V, Quadra vehicle skins through Twitch Drops, and a radio station featuring music from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.

For console players, the reported addition of mod.io integration could be one of the update’s most significant changes. The feature is said to bring mod support to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of Cyberpunk 2077. An FOV slider is also reportedly planned, giving players more control over their field of view. The Nintendo Switch 2 version is said to be excluded from mod support, although CD Projekt RED has not confirmed whether this will remain the case.

CD Projekt RED is scheduled to present the update during a livestream on October 21 at 5 PM CEST. With the release reportedly planned for October 22, the presentation should provide more details about the changes and clarify which leaked features will be included in the final update.
