Control Resonant PC Requirements Revealed: RTX 5080 Needed for 4K Path Tracing

Remedy Entertainment has given PC players an early look at what it will take to run Control Resonant, and the game’s highest graphics preset will put modern hardware to work. While the upcoming title can run on GPUs several generations old, players targeting 4K path tracing will need NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 5080, making the top-end configuration considerably more demanding than the game’s minimum requirements.

According to Remedy’s official PC hardware requirements, Control Resonant requires 16GB of RAM and 120GB of SSD storage across its configurations. The game will support both Windows 10 and Windows 11. At the minimum level, players can use an Intel Core i5-8500 or AMD Ryzen 5 3500 processor, combined with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070, AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT, or Intel Arc A580 graphics card.

The recommended hardware rises significantly for players targeting higher image quality and frame rates. Remedy lists the GeForce RTX 3080 or Radeon RX 6800 XT for 4K gaming at 60 FPS using the High graphics preset and Performance-mode upscaling. This configuration runs without ray tracing, but reaching 60 FPS at 4K with these GPUs suggests that players with comparable hardware should have a reasonable target for the game’s standard rendering mode.

Control Resonant’s most demanding configuration is designed around path tracing. For the Enthusiast preset at up to 4K, Remedy calls for an Intel Core i7-10700 or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X paired with a GeForce RTX 5080. AMD graphics cards are not supported for this particular path tracing preset, which makes NVIDIA hardware the required choice for players who want the game’s most demanding lighting effects.

Remedy is also preparing the game for current-generation upscaling technology. NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 and AMD FSR 4.1 will be available for upscaling and frame generation, while DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction will be used with supported ray-traced workloads. Control Resonant will also feature an uncapped frame rate, HDR, and ultra-wide aspect ratio support at launch.

With a release planned for later in 2026, the PC requirements could still change before launch. For now, however, the specifications show a game that remains playable on older GPUs while offering demanding visual settings for owners of newer hardware.
