Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Set for November 14 Release – Gets New Gameplay Trailer

At Gamescom 2025, Activision, Treyarch, and Raven Software unveiled the first gameplay for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. The game is scheduled to release on November 14, 2025, for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Battle.net, Steam, and Xbox on PC. It will also be available on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass at launch, along with Xbox Play Anywhere support.

The announcement marks a significant step for the Black Ops series, introducing a new Co-op Campaign, a shared global progression system, and an expanded lineup of Multiplayer and Zombies content.

Black Ops 7 is set in the year 2035, more than a decade after the events of Black Ops 2 and following the narrative threads of Black Ops 6. The central antagonist, Raul Menendez, returns, reigniting global instability.

Players once again take control of David “Section” Mason, a veteran soldier who now leads a Joint Special Operations Command unit. Mason and his team travel to Avalon, a Mediterranean city where The Guild, a powerful tech corporation, has positioned itself as both protector and potential threat.

The narrative will explore advanced military technology, geopolitical conflict, and psychological themes. Treyarch developers emphasized that the story balances large-scale global stakes with personal struggles, drawing from both past and new characters in the Black Ops timeline.

A key addition to Black Ops 7 is the Co-op Campaign, which can be played solo or with up to four players. Unlike previous entries, the Campaign introduces a global progression system, meaning every action—whether completing missions, defeating enemies, or securing objectives—earns Global XP. This system links Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies progression, giving players shared rewards across all modes.

The Campaign is designed around cooperative play, with missions unfolding in different locations, including Japan and the Mediterranean coast. Players will also explore psychological environments, a design element expanded from Black Ops 6, blurring the line between reality and memory.

The story leads into a large-scale mode called Endgame, supporting up to 32 players. Endgame merges narrative objectives with high-stakes combat in Avalon. Players can select Operators, build custom loadouts, and develop their Combat Rating in squad-based assignments. Treyarch described Endgame as a new way to conclude the Campaign, offering replayable challenges beyond the main storyline.

Black Ops 7 Multiplayer will launch with 16 new 6v6 maps and two 20v20 maps. These locations span Japan, Alaska, Avalon, and the Australian Outback, with several reimagined maps from Black Ops 2 adapted to the near-future 2035 setting.

The game introduces Skirmish, a new 20v20 mode featuring wingsuit traversal, encouraging vertical play, and large-scale tactical combat.

Movement is also evolving with the next stage of Omnimovement. Returning from Black Ops 6, the system now includes Wall Jump for tactical repositioning and Combat Roll for reduced fall damage. Tactical Sprint has been removed as a default ability and is now tied to the new Perk system, allowing players to customize their movement style.

Another key addition is the Overclock upgrade system, which enhances Field Upgrades, Scorestreaks, and Equipment over time. For example, Active Camo can be upgraded to recharge faster or allow recloaking after firing, giving players multiple paths to refine their playstyle.

Zombies mode makes a major return in Black Ops 7 with the largest round-based map in the franchise to date, alongside classic Survival maps and Dead Ops Arcade 4.

The story continues after the events of Black Ops 6, with the crew entering the Dark Aether. Here, they encounter alternate versions of the original cast—Richtofen, Nikolai, Takeo, and Dempsey—opening the door to new narrative directions.

Treyarch confirmed that Zombies will retain the round-based survival format, while also expanding with additional progression systems and community-driven features. More details are expected at the dedicated Zombies reveal later this year.

One of the most notable changes in Black Ops 7 is the global progression system. For the first time, players can progress their Battle Pass, weapons, and Daily Challenges across Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies.

The Campaign will also feature its own dedicated camo track, including new Mastery Camos that can be unlocked and displayed across all modes. This unified system ensures consistent rewards regardless of which mode players focus on.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will release on November 14, 2025, on the following platforms:

  • Xbox Series X|S
  • Xbox One
  • PlayStation 4
  • PlayStation 5
  • PC (Battle.net, Steam, Xbox on PC)

The game will be available day one on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, with Xbox Play Anywhere support for cross-platform access.

With the addition of a fully integrated Co-op Campaign, an innovative Endgame mode, an expanded Zombies experience, and 16 multiplayer maps at launch, Black Ops 7 marks a significant evolution for the franchise. The global progression system ties all three core modes together, ensuring every action contributes to player growth across the game.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 launches worldwide on November 14, 2025.
