AYANEO Launches Pocket DMG Bright Silver Limited Edition with Retro Design and Modern Hardware

AYANEO has launched the Pocket DMG Bright Silver Limited Edition, bringing a new metallic finish to its vertical retro handheld line. The updated colorway draws inspiration from the classic handheld era, presenting a silver tone with a soft reflective surface. The design aims to merge nostalgic aesthetics with the efficiency and performance of modern components, extending the identity of the Pocket DMG series.

The handheld follows the design approach established during its initial release in 2024, delivering a compact and ergonomic vertical layout. The Bright Silver model continues with the 3.92-inch 1240 × 1080 OLED display. With 419 PPI, it provides detailed visuals suitable for retro titles, Android games, streaming apps, and cloud gaming platforms. The OLED panel also offers rich color reproduction and a peak brightness of 450 nits, maintaining clarity across different lighting conditions.

Internally, the Pocket DMG Bright Silver Limited Edition is equipped with the Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 Gaming Platform. The chipset supports up to 15 W power output and is paired with LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.0 storage to improve responsiveness and loading times. Despite its portable size, the device includes a 6000mAh high-density battery. This capacity, combined with the efficiency of the Snapdragon platform, enables extended gameplay. The handheld supports 25 W PD fast charging, allowing users to resume gaming sessions with shorter charging intervals.

AYANEO continues to refine its control system for the vertical form factor. The device uses a left Hall joystick designed to provide drift-free stability, while a proprietary dual-mode touchpad is positioned on the right. This touchpad can emulate right-stick input for compatible titles or operate as a mouse for navigation. Haptic feedback and a larger touch area assist with precision during gameplay.

The overall layout of buttons is adjusted for comfort. The Start and Select keys are set in positions that reduce unintended presses, while the AYA key includes customizable RGB lighting. The MagicSwitch scroll wheel provides access to system functions such as volume, brightness, mute, and performance modes. It also supports user-defined mappings for additional versatility.

The Pocket DMG uses AYANEO’s Coastline shoulder button design. L1 and R1 are angled to match natural finger placement, and hidden L2 and R2 buttons are placed beneath the main shell but remain easy to access. All four shoulder buttons use tactile switches and support remapping in AYASpace.

Weighing 278 g and measuring 91.5 mm in width, the Pocket DMG maintains a balance between portability and grip comfort. The chassis incorporates curved edges, 3D shaping on the grip area, and polished chamfers to enhance feel during extended gaming sessions.

Connectivity options include USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C, SD 3.0 microSD expansion, Bluetooth 5.3, and high-speed Wi-Fi. The Type-C port also supports display output for use with external screens. AYANEO’s software environment, AYASpace and AYAHome, provides performance tuning, controller mapping, device spoofing for specific games, and profile customization.

The AYANEO Pocket DMG Bright Silver Limited Edition starts at $339 and is available in limited quantities. Accessory bundles are also offered for users looking to expand their setup.

By combining a retro-inspired appearance with a modern feature set, the Bright Silver Limited Edition extends the Pocket DMG lineup for players who favor a vertical handheld design supported by contemporary hardware and software improvements.
