AngryMiao has introduced the Battleye R2, a new magnetic switch keyboard that combines a compact form factor with features aimed at gaming and keyboard enthusiasts. The keyboard uses what the company calls a 74.5-key layout, positioned between a 63-key design and a traditional 75-key layout.
Rather than following the standard 75% keyboard arrangement, the Battleye R2 removes the right-side key cluster while retaining the full function key row at the top. This approach reduces the overall footprint while preserving access to dedicated F-keys, something many compact keyboard users prefer for gaming, productivity, and shortcut-heavy workflows.

The keyboard also includes a 1.7-inch circular LCD located in the upper-left corner. The screen supports custom content display, allowing users to personalize the keyboard with animations, status information, or other visual elements.
The Battleye R2 uses magnetic switch technology, a segment that continues to grow in the gaming keyboard market due to its customizable actuation behavior and fast response capabilities. According to AngryMiao, the keyboard’s onboard magnetic switch driver can be switched in 0.97 seconds.

AngryMiao will offer the keyboard in two material variants: Carbon Silver and Damask. Users can further customize the appearance by selecting either black or white matte PC keycaps.
The keyboard is equipped with a custom-designed AngryMiao Ver. magnetic switches. These switches feature 3.5mm total travel, a 35g actuation force, and a 45g bottom-out force, targeting users seeking lighter switch feedback for gaming and everyday typing.
Internal structure components include:
- Carbon fiber positioning plate
- PCBA layer
- Poron core foam
- Under-switch pads
- Under-switch PET pads
- EPDM base foam
The multi-layer internal design is intended to influence typing acoustics, key feel, and structural stability. Materials such as Poron foam, PET pads, and EPDM foam are commonly used in enthusiast keyboards to fine-tune sound dampening and improve the overall typing experience.

With its unusual layout design, integrated LCD, magnetic switch platform, and layered internal construction, the AngryMiao Battleye R2 adds another option to the premium gaming keyboard market. The company has not yet revealed official pricing or release availability details.
