AJAZZ has added another feature-packed mechanical keyboard to its lineup with the new SK98, combining a compact layout with an 8000mAh battery, tri-mode connectivity, dual side knobs, and a hot-swappable PCB. The keyboard is designed for users who want a customizable mechanical keyboard that can handle both gaming and everyday typing.
The SK98 uses a minimalist exterior built around a CNC-machined 180-mesh anodized aluminum alloy top cover. The chassis underneath is made from ABS injection-molded material, while a glossy black PVD nameplate with laser engraving sits on the back.
AJAZZ has also focused on the internal construction. The SK98 uses a gasket structure with an FR-4 single-key slotted double-sided PCB and a PC matte slotted positioning plate. Five layers of damping material are placed inside the keyboard to help control vibration and improve the overall typing feel.
The PCB supports hot-swappable switches, so users can change compatible switches without soldering. ARGB backlighting is also included, with LEDs positioned in the lower section of the switches. The keyboard supports music rhythm effects, allowing the lighting to respond to audio.
Two side-mounted knobs are another major feature of the SK98. AJAZZ describes them as “HI-FI style” knobs, giving users additional physical controls without adding more keys to the main layout.
For gaming, the keyboard includes support for SOCD, MT, TGL, and CB functions. These advanced key features can provide additional input options for different games and configurations.
Power comes from an 8000mAh battery, with NTC temperature control built into the system. AJAZZ claims wireless battery life of up to 5000 hours, although actual runtime will depend on factors such as connection mode, RGB lighting, and usage.
The AJAZZ SK98 is available with three switch and keycap combinations: Snow Soul Switch with Black Side Print, Lychee Switch V2 with Black Transparent White Lettering, and Quantum Switch with Quantum Honeycomb keycaps. This gives buyers different options for the keyboard’s switch characteristics and appearance.
