The RPCS3 development team has announced a new milestone for its PlayStation 3 emulator, with the Loadable compatibility category now containing zero games. The change follows an update to Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X. 2, which has moved from Loadable to In-game status after an SPU accuracy fix contributed by developer Yahfz.
According to the developers, the fix addresses an issue with how RPCS3 handles the PlayStation 3’s Synergistic Processing Unit (SPU) thread loader. The emulator now recreates the SPU thread loader and the arguments that the PS3’s LV2 kernel places in Local Store when an SPU group starts, before the code image is loaded. This prevents the loader from becoming corrupted and allows the game to progress beyond its previous compatibility state.
The Loadable category includes games that only display a black screen alongside a framerate counter in the emulator’s window title. Moving a game to Ingame means it can now run beyond that initial state, but it does not guarantee that the title is playable from beginning to end. Games in this category can still experience graphical glitches, crashes, performance problems, and other issues.
RPCS3 previously reached an empty Loadable category around the beginning of 2023, although compatibility changes and newly identified issues caused games to return to the list afterward. When the emulator’s compatibility progress was reported in July, approximately 0.06% of the PS3 library remained in the Loadable category.

The Playable category has also continued to grow, increasing from around 75% to 80% of the PS3 game library. Meanwhile, approximately 22 titles remain in the Intro category. These games can reach their opening screens but cannot progress into proper gameplay, with many relying on PlayStation Move functionality.
The latest achievement highlights the continued development of RPCS3 and its efforts to improve PlayStation 3 emulation on PC. Although an empty Loadable category does not mean every PS3 game is fully playable, it removes another compatibility barrier as the team continues working through the remaining titles.
