Targus has launched the DOCK402TT 8K USB-C Dock. Mode Single Video 8K Mobile Dock with Built-In GaN Charger, bringing laptop charging, display connectivity, and peripheral support into a single portable device. The new docking station targets mobile professionals who need to connect their laptops to external displays and accessories without carrying a separate charger and dock.
The DOCK402TT features a built-in gallium nitride (GaN) charger that delivers up to 140W of power to a compatible laptop and connected peripherals. Its HDMI port supports a single external display at resolutions of up to 8K at 30Hz. This provides a high-resolution display option for compatible systems, although the supported resolution and refresh rate depend on the connected device and display setup.

For peripherals, the dock includes two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports and one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port, each supporting data transfer speeds of up to 10Gbps. A Gigabit Ethernet port provides wired networking for users who need a stable network connection in their workspace.
David Dorantes, Director of Product Marketing at Targus, explained the purpose behind the new product: “Mobile professionals shouldn’t have to carry a separate dock and charger to stay productive when they are away from their usual workspace. DOCK402TT combines both in one travel-ready device, delivering the power and connectivity they need with less gear to pack, carry, and manage.”
The dock requires no additional software and supports compatible devices running Windows, macOS, iPadOS, Android, ChromeOS, and Linux. Its broad operating system compatibility makes it suitable for different laptop and mobile device setups, provided the connected device supports the required USB-C display and power features.

Targus also incorporates recycled materials into the DOCK402TT, which is manufactured using up to 75% post-consumer recycled aluminium and plastic. The company positions this design as part of its EcoSmart approach to mobile accessories.
The DOCK402TT joins Targus’ mobile docking range alongside the DOCK403, DOCK427, and DOCK429. These models offer different connectivity and power options for various working environments. The new DOCK402TT is available now through Targus.com and participating retailers worldwide. Targus has not announced pricing in the launch information provided.
