Rockstar Games is reportedly targeting the first quarter of 2027 for the PC release of Grand Theft Auto VI, potentially bringing the game to PC players just a few months after its planned console debut. According to GamesBeat, four industry sources familiar with the studio’s plans have indicated that the PC version could arrive between January and March 2027. Rockstar has not officially announced a PC version or confirmed this release window.
GTA 6 is currently scheduled to launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026. If the reported PC timeline holds, the gap between the console and PC releases would be considerably shorter than it was for Grand Theft Auto V, which launched on consoles in September 2013 before arriving on PC in April 2015.
A PC release in early 2027 could also benefit the game’s roleplaying community. GTA 5 has built a large PC roleplaying scene around FiveM, a multiplayer modification framework that supports custom servers and player-created experiences. A PC version of GTA 6 could eventually provide a platform for similar communities, although Rockstar has not announced plans for a FiveM successor.
The timing of GTA 6’s online mode is another area of interest, with reports pointing to a possible 2027 debut. However, Rockstar has not confirmed the launch schedule for the online component or whether it will arrive alongside the PC version.
Previous reports and industry comments have also suggested that the PC port could arrive sooner than expected. A Corsair executive previously mentioned a possible early 2026 release, but the company later described those remarks as speculation. VGC journalist Andy Robinson also suggested last month that the PC version might arrive earlier than some players anticipate.
A Q1 2027 release would fall before Take-Two Interactive’s fiscal year ends on March 31, 2027. While that timing aligns with the company’s financial calendar, it doesn’t set the game’s release date.
For now, the reported PC launch window remains unconfirmed. Until Rockstar provides an official announcement, PC players should treat the January-to-March 2027 timeframe as a rumor rather than a confirmed release plan.
