NACON is taking its Revolution controller lineup further with the Revolution 5 Unlimited (R5U), a new premium controller for PlayStation 5 and PC that combines TMR joystick technology with a built-in control screen. The new model is aimed at competitive players who want to change controller settings without stopping their game.
The built-in screen is one of the controller’s main features and is claimed by NACON to be a first for an officially licensed PS5 controller. It gives players access to settings such as audio mixing, joystick sensitivity, shortcut mapping, and other controller options directly from the device.
The Revolution 5 Unlimited also introduces TMR (Tunneling Magnetoresistance) technology to NACON’s Revolution range. The magnetic joystick technology is designed to provide precise input, improve long-term reliability, and reduce power consumption compared with conventional joystick technology.
For competitive gaming, NACON has equipped the R5U with micro-switch action buttons and Trigger Blockers with instant trigger technology. Players can switch the triggers from an analog pull to a much shorter click, which can be useful for games that rely on rapid inputs. Players can also remap multiple shortcut buttons to suit different games and control layouts.
The controller includes Shooter Pro Mode, which removes joystick dead zones to allow inputs to register more directly. NACON also offers a dedicated PC mode with latency as low as 1 ms, plus additional configuration options through its mobile app.
The Revolution 5 Unlimited supports PS5, PC, and Android Smart TVs. Its companion app is available on iOS and Android and allows users to configure features such as shortcut mappings and gyroscopic controls.
NACON is also including a storage case and dedicated charging dock with the controller. The charging dock can keep the controller ready between gaming sessions while providing a dedicated place to store it.
