Infinix is taking aim at one of the biggest problems with serious smartphone gaming: phones can deliver high frame rates, but touchscreen controls, rising temperatures, and limited connectivity can still get in the way. The company has introduced its GT NX Series, consisting of the GT NX Controller and GT NX Dock Station, with both products designed to turn a smartphone into a more complete gaming setup.
The GT NX Controller uses a split design with physical controls and a glass touchpad that Infinix describes as a Pixel-Level FPS Precision Touchpad. The touchpad is intended to give players more precise aiming in first-person shooters while also supporting swipe and mouse-style input. A three-chip architecture is used across the two controller halves, with Infinix claiming millisecond-level direct connectivity for gaming input.
The controller is rated for more than 22 hours of gameplay on a single charge and also includes adjustable haptic feedback. Through Infinix’s XArena software, players can choose between three haptic intensity levels, while supported game modes can provide different feedback for in-game actions.
The second part of the lineup is the GT NX Station, which combines a docking station with thermoelectric cooling. Its 9-in-1 design includes HDMI, RJ45 Ethernet, two USB-A ports, USB-C, USB-C PD input, microSD, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB-C host connection.
The TEC cooling system is designed to help keep smartphone temperatures under control during longer gaming sessions, while the Ethernet connection gives players an alternative to Wi-Fi. The dock can also connect a compatible phone to an external monitor or TV, with Mirror and Extend display modes supported on selected devices.
