HP has introduced a new full-size mechanical keyboard that combines an 8,000Hz polling rate with wireless connectivity and a large battery. The new HP GT06 mechanical keyboard features a 106-key layout and supports wired, 2.4GHz wireless, and Bluetooth connections, giving users the option to switch between gaming, work, and mobile setups.
The keyboard’s 8,000Hz polling rate is available through its wired connection, targeting gamers who want faster input reporting during competitive gameplay. While wireless modes are also supported, HP has positioned the GT06 as a full-size keyboard that can handle both gaming and productivity workloads.
Inside, the GT06 uses a Gasket soft-touch structure combined with seven layers of padding. The design is intended to provide a more consistent typing feel while reducing the impact and vibration generated when keys are pressed. HP is offering the keyboard with Kailh, Seiya, and Feather switches, giving buyers several options for the type of key feel they prefer.
The keyboard also includes a side-mounted multi-function knob for controlling system volume. A one-click mute function is built into the same control, providing quick access to audio controls without interrupting a game or switching to another application.
RGB lighting is included, with 16 backlight effects and support for Music Rhythm Lighting Effect 3.0. Users can configure the keyboard through HP’s web-based or client software, depending on the supported features and connection mode.
One of the more unusual specifications is the 12,000mAh battery. HP claims the GT06 can operate for up to 30 days on a charge, although actual battery life will depend on RGB lighting and usage. The keyboard also uses double-shot PBT keycaps designed to resist wear and oil buildup over extended use.
The ergonomic design includes two-stage adjustable feet, allowing users to change the typing angle. Combined with the full-size layout and dedicated number pad, the GT06 is also aimed at users who need a keyboard for office and professional applications.
The HP GT06 is currently available through JD.com in China for 310 yuan, equivalent to approximately $43 USD based on current exchange rates. International availability and pricing have not been announced.
