The Android gaming handheld market is getting another new contender with the launch of the ARC X1, an Indian-developed device powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon G2 Gen 2 gaming platform. ARC has paired the chipset with a high-refresh 1080p display, active cooling, a large replaceable battery, and dedicated controls aimed at handheld gaming.
The ARC X1 runs OwlOS, a gaming-focused Android distribution based on AOSP. The software is designed around the handheld form factor, while the hardware includes 8GB of LPDDR5X-8533 memory and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Users can add up to 1TB of additional storage through the microSD card slot.
A 7-inch 1920 × 1080 LTPS TFT LCD sits at the front of the device. The display supports a 120Hz refresh rate and offers more than 500 nits of brightness. For longer gaming sessions, ARC uses a rear-intake and top-exhaust turbine fan system to actively cool the hardware.
The control layout includes a TMR joystick, tactile micro-switch ABXY buttons, a precision micro-switch D-pad, and Hall effect triggers. The X1 also features a six-axis gyroscope, dual linear motors, and two programmable rear buttons. Dual speakers and noise-canceling microphones are included for gaming audio and voice communication.
ARC has priced the X1 at 33,500 Indian rupees, which is around $395 USD based on the stated conversion. A community discount brings the price down to 29,500 rupees, or approximately $347 USD. The final price outside India could vary depending on taxes, shipping, and regional distribution.
The combination of a Snapdragon G2 Gen 2 platform, 120Hz 1080p screen, active cooling, expandable storage, and a replaceable 9,300mAh battery gives the ARC X1 a hardware package aimed directly at Android gaming handheld users.
