AI coding tools are becoming a bigger part of software development, but switching between IDEs, command-line tools, AI agents, and browser windows can still slow down everyday work. Logitech is taking a different approach with its new MX Keypad, a dedicated physical control center designed to give developers quick access to AI-assisted coding workflows.
The Logitech MX Keypad is built for multi-app and multi-agent development, with customizable controls that can be assigned to different coding platforms and developer tools. Logitech says the keypad offers cross-app compatibility, allowing developers to combine AI workflows, complex prompts, and frequently used development commands in a single device.
The company is also launching the MX Keypad with plugins for GitHub Copilot and Claude Code. These integrations are designed to let developers control supported functions directly from the physical keys instead of repeatedly switching between applications.

GitHub is another major part of the MX Keypad launch. Logitech developed the device in close collaboration with GitHub, with native integration for GitHub, VS Code and the GitHub Copilot app planned from launch. Logitech says additional developer tools will be supported over time.
Every MX Keypad will also include three free months of GitHub Copilot Pro+, which can be redeemed through Logi Options+ by both new and existing users.

Customization is another major part of Logitech’s approach. The Logi Actions SDK allows software engineers to create custom tools and integrations for the MX Keypad. Logitech says its AI-friendly documentation can also allow coding agents to generate integrations directly from the SDK.
The Logi Marketplace already has community plugins for Claude Code and OpenAI Codex. These can provide features such as real-time agent status tracking and command-line controls through the keypad. Logitech says the SDK can potentially reach more than 100 million compatible Logitech devices.
The MX Keypad also uses recycled materials. The Graphite version contains 64% certified post-consumer recycled plastic, while the Pale Grey model contains 49%. Its packaging uses paper from FSC-certified forests and other controlled sources.
