The Blood of Dawnwalker 2 Is Already in Development, Rebel Wolves Confirms

The Blood of Dawnwalker has barely finished its first chapter, but Rebel Wolves is already looking toward the next one. The studio appears to have started early work on Blood of Dawnwalker 2, with a new job listing seeking a Lead Writer for the “next chapter in the Dawnwalker saga.”

The hiring announcement was shared by Rebel Wolves Narrative Director Jakub Szamalek on LinkedIn. His post confirms that the studio is looking beyond the first game after Blood of Dawnwalker reportedly sold more than one million copies during its opening weekend.

Szamalek wrote:

“The Blood of Dawnwalker released to critical acclaim and sold over one million copies in the opening weekend. But! We’re not resting on our laurels – no, siree! We’re already thinking about comes next.”

He continued:

“I’m looking for a Lead Writer to help me and the narrative team craft the next chapter in the Dawnwalker saga.”

The position itself provides some early clues about what Rebel Wolves wants from the sequel. According to the job listing, the studio is looking for a writer with the ability to create interactive, non-linear stories and dialogue, along with familiarity with the history and folklore of Central and Eastern Europe.

That does not confirm the setting or story of Blood of Dawnwalker 2, but it suggests that Rebel Wolves is interested in maintaining some of the narrative ideas established by the original game. The focus on non-linear storytelling could mean that player choices and branching storylines will remain an important part of the series.

The reference to Central and Eastern European history and folklore also raises the possibility of another story connected to the region. Blood of Dawnwalker is set in the fictional Carpathean Mountains, so a return to the area would make sense, although Rebel Wolves has not announced where the sequel will take place.

There is also a stronger possibility for the franchise. Rebel Wolves has previously described Dawnwalker as a saga that could span “centuries, continents, and cultures across the globe.” That could allow future games to move between different historical periods and locations rather than simply continuing the events of the first game.

It is still early days for Blood of Dawnwalker 2. Rebel Wolves is currently hiring a key member of its narrative team, meaning the sequel’s story, characters, gameplay direction, and release date may still be some way from being finalized. For now, the job listing is a strong indication that the studio intends to build a larger franchise around Dawnwalker following the commercial success of its first entry.
