Plaud has unveiled the Plaud One Explorer Edition, a new wearable AI device that moves the company’s note-taking technology into a familiar form factor: a pair of wireless earbuds. The new device is designed to capture conversations, phone calls, meetings, and spoken ideas before using AI to transcribe, summarize, and potentially turn that information into follow-up actions.
The Plaud One can be used as a pair of earbuds or as a standalone recording device through its charging case. Each earbud includes three microphones and 16MB of local storage, giving the pair a combined 32MB. Plaud says the earbuds can capture audio from up to two meters away and offer up to six hours of recording and battery life. The charging case adds four microphones, 512MB of storage, a built-in speaker, and a recording range of up to five meters. Combined battery life is rated at up to 36 hours.
The charging case features a built-in eSIM and 4G LTE connectivity, allowing Plaud One to upload recordings without relying on a smartphone or Wi-Fi connection. Captured conversations can be automatically sent for transcription and summarization, making the device suitable for use while travelling or working away from a traditional workspace.
The earbuds are powered by Plaud Intelligence and connected to Plaud Agent, which is designed to understand the context of recorded conversations and work with services such as Gmail, Google Calendar, Notion, and Slack. Plaud’s long-term goal is to move beyond transcription, allowing users to generate follow-up emails, documents, reports, task lists, and other work based on conversations they have already recorded.
However, some of the broader agent capabilities will not be fully available at launch. Plaud has confirmed that additional Plaud Intelligence features are planned for future updates, including wider hands-free interaction. At launch, users can interact with the agent through a button on the device, while future firmware updates are expected to expand how the system can be accessed.
Privacy will also be an important issue for a device designed to record conversations from the user’s ears or from a charging case placed on a table. Plaud says recording must be manually activated and advises users to follow local recording and consent laws. The company also says users remain responsible for approving higher-impact actions performed through the AI system.
The Plaud One Explorer Edition is priced at $249.99, with pre-orders now open in selected markets. Plaud expects shipments to begin in Q4 2026, following a correction to earlier launch information that suggested an earlier shipping date.

The Plaud One enters a growing market for AI wearables, but its approach is different from smart glasses and screen-based assistants. Instead of focusing on visual information, Plaud is betting that conversations themselves can become the main input for AI systems. Whether the agent features prove useful in daily work will depend on how well the software develops after launch, but the combination of wireless earbuds, a standalone 4G-enabled case, and AI-powered transcription gives the Plaud One a distinct position in the current wearable AI market.
