Colorful Launches iGame X870E VULCAN W OC Motherboard With DDR5-10600+ Support

Colorful has expanded its AMD AM5 motherboard lineup with the launch of the iGame X870E VULCAN W OC, a high-end model designed for Ryzen users who want extensive overclocking controls, high-speed DDR5 memory support, and a white-themed design. The new board is based on AMD’s X870E chipset and follows the company’s existing VULCAN OC series, with a focus on memory tuning and enthusiast-level hardware.

The Colorful iGame X870E VULCAN W OC supports AMD Ryzen processors on the AM5 platform, including Ryzen 7000, Ryzen 8000, and Ryzen 9000 series CPUs. Unlike many mainstream AM5 motherboards that use four DIMM slots, this model features a two-DIMM configuration designed to improve memory signaling and support higher DDR5 frequencies.

According to Colorful, the motherboard supports DDR5 memory speeds of up to DDR5-10600 and beyond through overclocking. High-frequency DDR5 support has become an important part of the enthusiast motherboard market, particularly for users building systems around AMD’s latest Ryzen processors and looking to tune memory performance beyond standard JEDEC specifications.

The board uses an 18+2+2-phase power design with 110A DrMOS stages and a 10-layer PCB. Colorful has also equipped the motherboard with large heatsinks and additional cooling hardware to support demanding CPU and memory overclocking. For users who prefer hands-on tuning, the iGame X870E VULCAN W OC includes onboard controls for BCLK adjustment, BIOS switching, debugging, and other system-level functions.

Storage and connectivity are also part of the package. The motherboard offers five M.2 slots, including two PCIe 5.0 x4 slots and three PCIe 4.0 x4 slots. This gives users support for the latest generation of high-speed NVMe SSDs while retaining compatibility with existing PCIe 4.0 drives.

On the connectivity side, the iGame X870E VULCAN W OC includes dual USB4 Type-C ports with transfer speeds of up to 40 Gbps. A front USB-C header also supports up to 20 Gbps transfer speeds and up to 60W Power Delivery, depending on the system configuration and connected hardware.

Colorful has continued the visual design seen on other VULCAN products with a white PCB, matching heatsinks, and a removable display module. The integrated display has a resolution of 268 × 800 pixels and can be used to show system information and other customized content, adding another hardware monitoring option without requiring a separate internal display.

The Colorful iGame X870E VULCAN W OC has launched in China with a price of 3,999 yuan, which is roughly equivalent to $600. International availability has not been detailed yet. At that price, the motherboard is clearly aimed at enthusiasts rather than mainstream gaming PC builders, particularly those planning to push DDR5 memory speeds and take advantage of the AM5 platform’s PCIe 5.0 and USB4 connectivity.
