8BitDo has announced the Arcade Controller Pro, a new arcade-style controller featuring low-profile mechanical switches, programmable buttons, wireless connectivity, and extensive software customization. The new model builds on the original Arcade Controller with smaller buttons and tighter button groupings designed to help players execute inputs more quickly, particularly in fighting games and other arcade titles.
The 8BitDo Arcade Controller Pro is available for pre-order on Amazon for $119.99 in white and black-and-red color options. Its official release date is November 30, 2026, with pre-order shipments also scheduled to begin on that date.
The controller features a tempered glass faceplate covering a 17-button layout, with additional shortcut buttons and input control toggles along the top edge. Five programmable P1-P5 buttons can be remapped on the fly, while a built-in display runs 8BitDo’s Ultimate Software directly on the controller’s microcontroller. This allows users to adjust their button assignments and customize their controls for different games.
8BitDo has also included a magnetic wrist rest with lock caps for the P1-P5 buttons to prevent accidental presses. The quick-release glass faceplate conceals a keycap and switch removal tool, along with three spare switches for replacement when needed.
The Arcade Controller Pro uses Kailh co-developed Core Green low-profile linear mechanical switches based on the Choc V2 standard. The design may allow users to install compatible tactile or clicky alternatives, although switch compatibility should be confirmed before making replacements. Through Ultimate Software V2, users can customize RGB lighting, remap buttons, create macros, and configure SOCD handling.
The controller includes built-in SOCD cleaning and a tournament lock, features aimed at competitive fighting-game players. SOCD handling determines how a controller processes opposing directional inputs pressed simultaneously, making it an important consideration for players who use leverless arcade controllers.
For connectivity, the Arcade Controller Pro supports low-latency 2.4 GHz wireless and Bluetooth. Bluetooth connectivity is available for compatible devices, including the Nintendo Switch and Android devices. Battery life over 2.4 GHz is rated at up to 15 hours with RGB lighting disabled, so enabling lighting may affect runtime.
Two USB Type-C ports provide additional flexibility for wired setups. The rear port also includes a metal cable lock to help prevent accidental disconnections during gameplay.
