Xbox Confirms Gamescom 2026 Lineup With Fable, Gears of War: E-Day, and More

Xbox is preparing a major presence at Gamescom 2026, and visitors heading to Cologne will have plenty to play. Microsoft has confirmed that its Xbox booth will feature 140 gaming stations and 25 playable titles, including some of the company’s biggest upcoming releases such as Fable and Gears of War: E-Day.

The Xbox booth will be located in Hall 7 at booth A-0.61 inside the Koelnmesse exhibition center in Cologne, Germany. Gamescom 2026 runs from August 26 through August 30, giving attendees several days to try upcoming Xbox Game Studios releases and games from major third-party publishers.

The event also arrives during Xbox’s 25th anniversary year. Microsoft plans to include interactive displays that look back at games, hardware, and major moments from the history of the Xbox brand alongside the large collection of playable demos.

Here’s what Xbox has confirmed for its Gamescom 2026 booth:

  • 140 playable gaming stations
  • 25 games available across the Xbox booth
  • Fable from Playground Games
  • Gears of War: E-Day from The Coalition
  • Minecraft Dungeons II from Mojang Studios and Double Eleven
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 from Infinity Ward
  • Alien: Isolation 2 from Creative Assembly
  • Metro 2039 from 4A Games
  • Stranger Than Heaven
  • A dedicated live Fable demo theater
  • Xbox FanFest on August 26
  • Two Xbox livestreams from the Gamescom booth

Fable is expected to be one of the main attractions at the Xbox booth. Playground Games will not only offer a playable version of the upcoming RPG but will also host a live demo theater featuring a longer look at the game and its combat.

Gears of War: E-Day will also give Gamescom visitors another chance to see what The Coalition is working on. The game takes the franchise back to the beginning of the Locust invasion and remains one of the biggest upcoming projects from Xbox Game Studios.

Minecraft Dungeons II rounds out the confirmed first-party lineup. The sequel is being developed by Mojang Studios and Double Eleven and will join the other Xbox titles on the Gamescom show floor.

Xbox’s booth will also feature several major third-party games. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 from Infinity Ward is confirmed for the playable lineup, alongside Alien: Isolation 2, the upcoming sequel from Creative Assembly and Sega. Metro 2039 from 4A Games and Deep Silver will also be available, while Stranger Than Heaven is another confirmed game for attendees.

Microsoft has yet to reveal every title included in the 25-game lineup, so more announcements are likely before the doors open in Cologne.

Xbox is also bringing development teams to the event, allowing attendees to speak with developers and learn more about the games featured at the booth. The company is placing a strong focus on accessibility as well, with wheelchair access, Xbox Adaptive Controllers, adjustable-height desks and monitors, and a quiet room for visitors who need a lower-sensory environment.

American Sign Language, British Sign Language, and German Sign Language interpreters will also be available.

Xbox FanFest will return on Wednesday, August 26, running from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM CEST. For those unable to attend Gamescom 2026 in person, Microsoft will host two livestreams directly from its booth on August 26 and August 27.

Both broadcasts will begin at 7:00 AM PDT, 10:00 AM EDT, and 4:00 PM CEST. Xbox says viewers can expect extended gameplay, developer interviews, and new announcements from the event.

Gamescom Opening Night Live, hosted by Geoff Keighley, will kick off the week’s major presentations on August 25. With 140 playable stations and a lineup that includes Fable, Gears of War: E-Day, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, and more, Xbox is shaping up to be one of the larger exhibitors at Gamescom 2026.
