Colorful has announced its new Cloud 60 series of hollow magnetic switch keyboards, bringing a combination of high-speed input technology and an unusual open-frame design to the gaming keyboard market. The series is available in three versions and uses Colorful’s StarFlash 8K solution, which offers a reported latency as low as 0.125ms.
The Cloud 60 series takes a different approach to keyboard design with what Colorful calls a “negative space hollow design.” Rather than using a conventional enclosed keyboard structure, the design incorporates open areas that expose parts of the internal structure. Colorful has paired this layout with a self-developed 360-degree circular light screen, creating lighting effects that interact with the hollow sections of the keyboard.

According to Colorful, the combination of the circular display and open structure produces an immersive light and shadow effect. The lighting is designed to change the visual appearance of the keyboard while maintaining the gaming-focused layout and functionality expected from a modern magnetic switch keyboard.
The gaming hardware inside the Cloud 60 series is centered around Colorful’s StarFlash 8K solution. The system supports an 8K polling rate and can achieve latency as low as 0.125ms. A high polling rate allows the keyboard to report input to the PC more frequently, while the low claimed latency is aimed at reducing the delay between a key press and its registration in supported games.

Colorful has also equipped the Cloud 60 keyboards with a gaming-grade TOP structure and five layers of full filling. The layered construction is intended to improve the overall feel of the keyboard while providing a more controlled sound profile during typing and gaming.
The Cloud 60 lineup also comes with three magnetic switch options: Crystal Switch, Obsidian Switch, and Aurora Switch. Colorful describes all three as “zero dead zone” switches, giving users more choices while keeping the same magnetic switch technology across the series.

Magnetic switches have become increasingly popular among gaming keyboard manufacturers because they can support features such as adjustable actuation and rapid input detection. Colorful is combining those capabilities with the StarFlash 8K platform to target gamers who prioritize fast input response.
The Cloud 60 series also puts considerable emphasis on appearance. The hollow structure, circular light screen, and internal lighting work together to give the keyboards a more distinctive look than conventional 60% gaming keyboards. At the same time, the compact layout keeps the keyboard suitable for gaming setups where desk space is limited.
