Keychron has shared another look at its growing gaming peripheral lineup by revealing a new concept based on the upcoming G6 HE gaming mouse. The latest prototype is designed for players who prefer a fingertip grip, featuring a shorter shell that removes the rear section of the mouse to reduce weight while maintaining the core features of the standard model. The company is currently gathering community feedback before moving the design into production.
The G6 HE Fingertip keeps several features from the standard G6 HE, including Hall Effect (HE) magnetic switches, programmable side buttons, and a removable battery system. While the overall shape has changed, the internal layout has also been adjusted. Keychron has moved the removable battery closer to the front of the shell to improve weight distribution, helping the mouse remain balanced during fast movements.
According to Keychron, the fingertip version is expected to weigh approximately 30 grams with the battery installed. Since the battery is removable, users can also connect the mouse through a wired connection and operate it without the battery, reducing the total weight to around 23 grams. If these numbers remain unchanged in the final product, it would place the mouse among the lightest options available in the gaming mouse market.
The design has not yet been finalized. Keychron confirmed that the project is still in the feedback stage before tooling begins, allowing the community to suggest improvements. This approach allows the company to refine both the shape and functionality before the mouse enters mass production.
Early responses from users have already generated several ideas for possible changes. Some users requested a dedicated pinky rest for additional comfort during long gaming sessions. Others suggested lowering the height of the left and right mouse buttons for easier clicking. There were also recommendations for an asymmetrical shell that better fits the natural position of the hand. Another popular suggestion was to include mounting points that would allow users to attach custom 3D-printed accessories, making it easier to personalize the shape for different grip styles.
The teaser shows that Keychron is continuing to experiment with lightweight gaming mouse designs while keeping practical features such as wireless connectivity and removable batteries. Instead of focusing only on reducing weight, the company appears to be balancing portability, customization, and performance for competitive gamers.
