8BitDo has expanded its gaming peripheral lineup with the introduction of the new Arcade Controller Pro, a successor to the company’s Tenblade controller. The latest model keeps the unique joystick-free design of its predecessor while bringing several hardware and usability improvements aimed at fighting game players, arcade enthusiasts, and users who prefer a button-focused control setup.

The Arcade Controller Pro arrives with a redesigned layout that focuses on accessibility and customization. Compared to the previous generation, the controller adds new P5 programmable buttons, giving players more flexibility when assigning commands and shortcuts. Nintendo Switch users also benefit from a dedicated screenshot button, allowing quick access to capture gameplay moments.
The controller now features a built-in 1.47-inch multifunction display that allows users to view controller information and adjust settings directly on the device. This reduces the need to use companion software for common adjustments. The function buttons have also been redesigned with a smaller footprint and placed closer together, helping achieve a more compact and streamlined layout.

For the switches, 8BitDo partnered with Kailh to develop the Core Green linear mechanical low-profile switches. These switches are designed to provide fast actuation with a smooth keystroke while keeping operating noise relatively low during long gaming sessions.
The physical design has also been updated. The Arcade Controller Pro is 16mm shorter than the previous model, making it easier to position on a desk or lap. A magnetic palm rest is included and doubles as a storage compartment for spare switches, keycaps, and a keycap puller. The controller also features dual USB-C ports, with one equipped with a cable-locking mechanism to help secure wired connections during competitive play.
Customization remains a key focus, with support for RGB lighting effects and interchangeable components. The tempered glass top panel features a quick-release design, making it easier for users to access internal parts and personalize their setup.

Powering the device is a built-in 3000mAh lithium-ion battery. According to 8BitDo, the controller can deliver up to 15 hours of continuous operation before requiring a recharge.
