Biostar has confirmed plans to showcase “next-gen” AMD motherboards during Computex 2026, offering an early signal of upcoming platform updates tied to AMD’s future desktop CPUs. The announcement comes as partners begin preparing for the next phase of the AM5 ecosystem.
The company has not shared detailed specifications, but the wording has led to speculation that these boards may be designed for AMD Ryzen Zen 6 processors, reportedly codenamed Olympic Ridge. Early expectations point to higher core counts—potentially up to 24 cores—along with efficiency improvements and architectural changes aimed at both gaming and productivity workloads.
At the same time, the motherboard segment is already evolving within the current generation. Vendors have begun enabling EXPO 1.2 support, which brings compatibility with CUDIMM memory and introduces lower latency DDR5 tuning options. These updates suggest that even without a socket change, upcoming boards could deliver measurable gains in memory performance and system stability.

Biostar’s “next-gen” label could also refer to refreshed versions of existing 800-series motherboards. Such updates typically focus on improved power delivery, refined BIOS support, and expanded connectivity options rather than a complete redesign. This approach would align with AMD’s history of extending platform longevity across multiple CPU generations.
According to the company’s official announcement, its Computex 2026 booth will feature a wide range of products beyond consumer motherboards. The lineup includes AI-focused systems based on NVIDIA Jetson platforms, along with desktop solutions powered by both AMD and Intel processors. Biostar will also present its VALKYRIE gaming motherboard series and graphics cards built on the Radeon RX lineup.
Storage and memory will also be part of the showcase, covering DDR4 and DDR5 modules, as well as PCIe M.2 and SATA SSD solutions. On the industrial side, Biostar plans to introduce new motherboards based on Intel’s W880 platform, alongside support for upcoming technologies such as Panther Lake and Jetson Thor.
With Computex drawing closer, Biostar’s announcement signals continued momentum for the AM5 platform. Whether these “next-gen” boards target future Zen 6 processors or serve as refined updates to current designs, they are expected to reflect the next step in AMD’s desktop ecosystem.
