John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando Out Now on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC

John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The co-op action shooter was developed by Saber Interactive and published by Focus Entertainment. PC players can access the game through Steam and the Epic Games Store.

The release is accompanied by a launch trailer that previews the game’s combat, vehicles, and large groups of enemies. The title focuses on cooperative gameplay where players work together to survive waves of zombies and complete mission objectives.

The game runs on Saber’s Swarm Engine, the same technology used in World War Z: Aftermath and Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. The engine allows large numbers of enemies to appear on screen at the same time, which shapes the game’s main encounters and boss fights.

John Carpenter commented on the launch, encouraging players to jump in and face the undead threat. According to Carpenter, the game focuses on fast combat where players must quickly adapt to survive incoming hordes.

The story takes place in the near future after an experiment designed to draw energy from the Earth’s core causes a disaster. The event transforms the environment into toxic sludge and creates waves of undead monsters.

Leon Dorsey, the scientist responsible for the project, attempts to correct the situation by hiring a mercenary team. When professional squads prove too expensive, he recruits a group known as the Toxic Commandos to deal with the outbreak.

The game supports four-player cooperative play with crossplay between consoles and PC. Teams move through semi-open environments while fighting large groups of enemies and completing objectives across different missions.

Players can use firearms, grenades, abilities, and melee weapons such as katanas. Vehicles are also placed across the map, allowing teams to drive through enemy groups while moving between mission areas.

With its co-op focus and large zombie battles, John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando is now available for players looking for action-driven survival gameplay across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
