GMKtec has teased the release of a new 2nd Gen AI mini PC that promises to deliver up to 180 TOPS (Tera Operations Per Second) of AI processing power. While the company has yet to reveal full details, the announcement has caught the attention of tech enthusiasts who are eager to learn more about the hardware that will power this compact yet powerful machine.
GMKtec has been at the forefront of mini PC development, with a lineup that includes Intel and AMD-powered systems. The current fastest Intel-based mini PC from GMKtec is the EVO T1, featuring the Core Ultra 9 285H processor, which offers 99 AI TOPS of power. However, the upcoming 2nd Gen AI mini PC is expected to feature Intel’s next-generation Panther Lake processors, capable of delivering up to 180 AI TOPS. These chips include models like the Core Ultra X7 358H, Ultra X7 368H, and Core Ultra X9 388H, all of which are equipped with Intel’s Xe3-core Arc B390 iGPU. This iGPU alone provides up to 122 AI TOPS, combined with additional AI power from the CPU and NPU5, making it possible to reach the 180 TOPS threshold.
The new AI mini PC will likely offer various configurations to cater to different needs. Based on GMKtec’s existing EVO T1 configurations, the 2nd Gen model may feature up to 64 GB of RAM with 1 TB of storage, or more powerful options with up to 96 GB of RAM and 2 TB of storage. Although the design of the new system is expected to be similar to the EVO T1, the increased AI performance will likely make it a significant upgrade for those in need of high-performance computing in a compact form factor.
