ASUS has introduced theProArt KD300, a 65% keyboard designed for creators and office users, marking a shift from the company’s traditional gaming-focused lineup. While ASUS’ gaming keyboards, such as the ROG Falchion RX, have emphasized high-speed performance, the ProArt KD300 blends the same core hardware with features aimed at productivity. The keyboard offers a compact 65% layout that includes a dedicated arrow cluster and a navigation column, while the function row is accessible through a secondary layer under the number row. This layout keeps the keyboard compact without limiting essential functionality for work and creative tasks.

The ProArt KD300 uses ASUS Red linear optical switches, with an actuation force ranging between 40 gf and 55 gf. These switches are available only in the linear Red variant at launch, and the design does not allow for alternative keycaps or switch types. The keyboard retains the touch panel from the Falchion RX but relocates it to the rear edge, keeping the top surface clean in a matte Black Aerolite finish. The touch panel supports gestures and can be configured through the Gear Link web app for media control, brightness, volume adjustments, and even mouse scrolling and clicks.

Connectivity options include wired USB Type-C, Bluetooth, and 2.4 GHz wireless. The keyboard supports a 1,000 Hz polling rate for both wired and 2.4 GHz connections, with Bluetooth operating at 133 Hz. Powering the wireless modes is a 4,000 mAh battery, which ASUS claims can last up to 16 months in 2.4 GHz mode with the backlighting turned off. The ProArt KD300 also includes an OS toggle for Windows and macOS, a three-way switch to select connectivity modes, integrated dongle storage, and flip-out feet offering 4.5° and 8° typing angles.

The ProArt KD300 is currently available in China at RMB 999, approximately $145. Global availability has not been announced, but pricing is expected to be close to the ROG Falchion RX’s retail range. By combining compact design, wireless flexibility, and productivity-focused features, the ProArt KD300 positions ASUS as a viable option for creators seeking a premium keyboard experience.
