ASUS (ROG) has unveiled the ROG Strix Aiolos, a new external SSD enclosure designed for gamers, content creators, and professionals who require high-speed, portable storage. The enclosure supports next-generation NVMe M.2 SSDs while offering advanced management and cooling features.
The ROG Strix Aiolos is equipped with USB-C 3.2 Gen 2×2 connectivity, allowing data transfer speeds of up to 20 Gbps. This ensures quick movement of large files, media libraries, or game collections. The enclosure supports both NVMe PCIe SSDs (2242/2260/2280) and SATA SSDs, providing flexibility for different storage setups. Additionally, the ROG SSD Dashboard offers real-time monitoring of drive performance, status, and health metrics, simplifying storage management for users.

To maintain performance under heavy workloads, the ROG Strix Aiolos uses a dual-layer cooling system, including a high-efficiency thermal pad that helps dissipate heat from the SSD. A heat-resistant, liquid-silicone-rubber coating protects the device from dust, smudges, and thermal strain, ensuring reliable operation over extended use.
The enclosure includes Aura RGB lighting, which can be customized through a web interface, allowing users to personalize their device. Its tool-free, push-to-open mechanism makes SSD installation or replacement quick and easy. For mobility, the enclosure features a metal hook with a fabric tag for secure handling, a reinforced ROG strap, and a braided cable for added durability.

The ROG Strix Aiolos is designed to provide a balance of speed, durability, and convenience. By combining dual M.2 compatibility, advanced thermal protection, and portable design, it offers a reliable solution for users who need fast and flexible external storage for gaming or content creation.
