SANWA (Japanese computer accessory manufacturer) has introduced a new Bluetooth mouse under the model name 400-MABS233, targeting users who need a compact device for both mobile and desktop use. The new model features a sliding body mechanism that changes its physical length, allowing it to remain portable while offering a more usable form factor during regular operation.
In its folded state, the 400-MABS233 measures 7.05 cm, making it suitable for travel and storage alongside laptops or tablets. When extended, the mouse reaches 11.1 cm, providing additional support for the hand. SANWA states that the design is intended to accommodate both claw grip and fingertip grip styles, which are common among users who switch between short and long working sessions.
Beyond its physical design, the mouse includes a software-assisted high-speed scroll wheel. Users can adjust the scrolling behavior across five speed levels using dedicated software. At higher settings, slow scrolling can move through hundreds of lines, while faster movement allows for rapid navigation across large documents or web pages. The software-based approach also allows SANWA to use a smaller scroll wheel, helping reduce the overall size of the mouse without limiting functionality.
The 400-MABS233 is equipped with a blue LED optical sensor offering a maximum resolution of 4,000 DPI. This level of sensitivity is aimed at general productivity tasks such as document editing, browsing, and office work. Wireless connectivity is provided through Bluetooth 5.2, enabling direct pairing with compatible devices without requiring a USB dongle.
According to SANWA, the mouse delivers up to 78 hours of battery life under typical usage conditions. This makes it suitable for daily use without frequent recharging, especially for users who rely on Bluetooth peripherals while traveling or working remotely.
Pricing for the SANWA 400-MABS233 is set at 4,280 yen in the Japanese market. Based on current exchange rates, this corresponds to approximately USD $28 to $30. SANWA has not yet confirmed availability or pricing for markets outside Japan.
