Abxylute has confirmed two upcoming controller designs for the Nintendo Switch 2. The new models, called the N9C and N6, are designed to connect directly to the console using the bottom USB-C port. Both controllers are expected to launch through Kickstarter, with availability planned after the crowdfunding campaign concludes.

The Abxylute N9C focuses on a retro design inspired by the Nintendo GameCube controller. It features a wired USB-C connection and uses capacitive joysticks instead of Hall effect or TMR-based solutions. The face buttons rely on mechanical micro switches, while the shoulder buttons use Alps tactile switches. The triggers also use mechanical micro switches, maintaining a consistent digital input design across the controller.

In terms of features, the N9C includes two customizable rear buttons on each side, allowing users to assign macros or remap controls. The controller supports 9-axis gyro input for motion-based gameplay and offers on-board macro storage, adjustable vibration levels, and button mapping options. It also includes a built-in stand and Bluetooth Low Energy support. However, the controller does not have an internal battery, as the BLE connection is intended only for configuration and customization.

The Abxylute N6 takes a more modern approach, with a grip design aimed at comfort during longer sessions. The layout follows an Xbox-style offset joystick arrangement and uses Hall effect joysticks designed to reduce long-term wear. Abxylute has added anti-friction rings around the sticks to improve movement consistency. The ABXY buttons use silicone rubber domes, while the D-pad uses tactile switches. The triggers are digital rather than analog.
The N6 also includes one rear button per side and features a redesigned back panel that redirects audio from the Switch 2’s downward-firing speakers toward the player. Abxylute claims this design delivers up to 10 percent stronger bass. Pricing has not been announced, and both controllers are expected to launch on Kickstarter soon.
