Ayaneo has officially revealed the Pocket S Mini, a new handheld gaming device designed for players who prefer a traditional 4:3 display for retro games. The company says the device is aimed at enthusiasts looking for accurate visuals, premium build quality, and modern performance in a compact form.

The Pocket S Mini features a high-definition LCD panel with a 4:3 aspect ratio, intended to display classic games in their original format. This screen layout avoids stretching and preserves the look of older titles, which many retro gamers consider essential for an authentic experience. Ayaneo notes that the display is tuned for clear visuals and balanced color reproduction.

Build quality remains a key focus for the company. The Pocket S Mini uses a CNC-machined full-metal frame, giving the handheld a solid structure and a refined finish. According to Ayaneo, the metal body improves durability while also adding a premium feel compared to plastic designs commonly found in this category.
On the hardware side, the device is powered by Qualcomm’s second-generation Snapdragon G3x Gaming Platform. The chipset is designed specifically for handheld gaming and is expected to handle a wide range of retro titles, along with select modern games, at stable frame rates. Ayaneo positions the Pocket S Mini as a compact device with performance suited for extended play sessions.

The control layout includes RGB Hall-effect joysticks and Hall linear triggers, which are designed to offer consistent input over long-term use. The handheld also features crystal-textured buttons, providing clear tactile feedback while matching the overall design of the device.
Ayaneo plans to offer the Pocket S Mini in three color options: Ice White, Obsidian Black, and Retro Power. Each finish targets a different audience, from minimal designs to color schemes inspired by classic gaming hardware.
With the Pocket S Mini, Ayaneo is expanding its lineup of high-end handhelds with a model focused entirely on the 4:3 retro gaming experience. Details on pricing and availability have not yet been announced, but the official unveiling confirms the device is moving closer to launch.
