Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted Arrives October 23 on PC and Consoles

Electronic Arts and PopCap Studios have officially announced the return of one of the most recognized strategy games of the past decade. Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted is set to release on October 23, 2025, and will be available for PC and consoles. The game will be distributed digitally through the EA app, Steam, and the Epic Games Store, with its debut gameplay trailer now available for fans to preview.

This updated version revisits the original backyard defense experience, now with upscaled HD graphics that enhance the look of plants, zombies, and environments. While maintaining its familiar lane-based tower defense mechanics, Replanted introduces new gameplay elements designed to refresh the formula. Among these is Cloudy Day Mode, a feature that restricts sunlight and planting abilities, pushing players to adapt their strategies under tougher conditions.

Multiplayer support is also a major part of the release. Local co-op will allow players to team up against waves of zombies, while a PvP mode offers head-to-head competition for those looking to test their skills against friends. These additions expand the original single-player format, offering new ways to play beyond the traditional campaign.

Alongside the main gameplay, Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted will include a variety of classic minigames that long-time fans will recognize, ensuring that the quirky challenges of the series return in updated form. Players will also gain access to a collection of franchise archive content, showcasing unseen materials that highlight how Plants vs. Zombies became a global success.

With its mix of old and new, Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted is positioned to bring the franchise to both returning players and newcomers. By blending upgraded visuals, new modes, and expanded multiplayer features, the game aims to capture the same charm that made the original title a standout strategy experience. The official release on October 23 will mark a significant milestone in the series’ history, giving fans a modern way to enjoy the classic backyard battles.
